Girteka implements the largest business digitization in Lithuania

Girteka has set a goal to fully digitize its logistics business and all operations by 2025 through the SAP Business Technology Platform and in collaboration with other IT solutions companies. With one of the world’s latest SAP business analytics platforms, which includes SAP Data Analytics Cloud, SAP Data Warehouse Cloud, and SAP Data Intelligence, the logistics company is capable of intelligently managing and analyzing data in real-time throughout the business chain, including customer service, fleet and warehouse management, and logistics operations.

Improving drivers’ working conditions and road safety

In 2021-2022, Girteka plans to invest 145 million Euros in the renewal and development of its own fleet, significantly contributing to the improvement of drivers’ working conditions and road safety.

Girteka Park – a workplace in Vilnius that meets the standards of global offices

Almost 1,500 employees in Girteka’s administrative divisions (finance, IT, law, people and organizational culture, marketing and communication, sales, transport, and logistics) are working on a hybrid work model in a new office in Vilnius called Girteka Park. The six-story building, which covers an area of 14,000 square meters, is equipped with ergonomic workplaces, a gym, separate recreation, silence, art areas, a library, a restaurant called Dialogas, and five outdoor terraces, which can also be used for work. Events, conferences, meetings, and a variety of initiatives can also take place here. The building is also environmentally friendly.

In 2021, Girteka reduced its CO2 emissions by 15 %.

Girteka trucks are on average three years old and feature state-of-the-art technology, including the latest engines and gearboxes that reduce fuel consumption and emissions. Investments in the new truck fleet also contribute significantly to reducing the environmental impact of operations. In addition, the logistics company uses intermodal rail transport, where freight is transported from one point to another by train, with trucks overcoming the last few kilometers from the train station to the place of loading or unloading. These and other actions in 2021 resulted in 15 % less CO2 emissions per kilometer compared to the industry average.
